A Black mother said she was asked to leave Dell’Osso Family Farms in California after an argument with a white woman over using a table. Despite waiting around 40 minutes for food, she had also paid for her meal.

The woman, username @pennace2society, shared the video on TikTok and said that when she had sat down with her child, the white woman approached and started arguing. The argument escalated and staff and a police officer were called. The police officer told the family to leave.

She said she waited about 40 minutes in line for food before sitting at a table with her child.

She said she had already paid for her meal and questioned why another customer could challenge her right to use the table. She said, “I just waited in this line for 40 [minutes]. You think you’re going to tell me that I can’t sit down and eat my food? I paid my money just like everybody else.”

The woman also said another man sat at the table after she took her seat. She said, “He sat down after I already sat down. The reason why he got up is that he didn’t wanna be recorded.”

She asked why the other woman hadn’t asked him to move if the table was supposedly reserved.

Disagreement Escalated as Woman Asked Other Customer to Move Away

The woman said the other customer approached her and spoke to her child during the disagreement.

In the footage, she asked the woman to keep her hands away from her bag and move her phone away from her face. She also alleged that the other woman slammed her hand on the table, called her a “mean mother,” and pointed a finger at her child.

The creator disputed the other woman’s account of the confrontation and denied threatening her. The available report did not independently verify either woman’s allegations about how the disagreement began or what happened during the entire exchange.

Police Officer Told Family Management Wanted Them to Leave

The disagreement eventually drew the attention of farm staff and a police officer.

Per the woman’s account, the officer told her that management wanted her and her family to leave because the farm was private property. When she asked why she was being removed, she was told that the other woman had accused her of raising her hand and threatening her.

The officer reportedly explained that the business could refuse service. The woman then said she wanted to file a false police report and asked to speak with a manager.

She said, “What was the threat that she said that I said? Because now she’s lying and I would like to file a false police report.”

Woman Accused Farm of Discriminatory Treatment

The creator said, “We’re being kicked out of Delosso Farms for, quite frankly, being Black.”

“They said it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that me, the Black woman, just so happens to threaten this [expletive], which nobody was ever threatened.”

The woman ultimately said she believed she and her family had been removed from the property because she was Black. Her accusation followed the disagreement with the white customer and the officer’s instruction that the family leave.
