A white couple at a Ruby Tuesday restaurant reportedly threatened to call 911 over a $30 plate of ribs after disputing the charge with the Black manager.
The husband said the “ribs were burned and that the couple could not eat them”. He wanted the charge removed from the bill, but the manager refused.
A Dispute Over the Ribs Escalated

The disagreement continued as the couple and the manager discussed the $30 charge. The possibility of police involvement also came up during the exchange.
The customer recording the incident said she wanted to capture the couple on camera.
She said, “I just wanted to make sure I saw your face on camera. This is the face of entitlement.” She then questioned the decision to involve police over the meal.
The customer asked, “Calling the police on someone for some ribs?” She also asked why police needed to get involved in the disagreement.
She added, “But what does the police have to do with anything?”
The husband explained that the manager could call the police if the couple did not pay the bill.
The Customer Offered to Pay

The husband kept arguing that the meal should be removed from the bill because the ribs were burned.
“The meal should be comped because the ribs are burned,” he said.
The customer recording the incident questioned whether the couple was seeking a free meal. “So you’re trying to get a free meal out of it? That’s what this is about?” she asked.
She then offered to pay for the meal. “Would you like me to pay for it? Would that solve the problem?” she asked.
The husband declined the offer. The customer then addressed the couple’s treatment of the restaurant employees.
“The way you’re treating these people is unnecessary,” she said.
She again offered to pay the bill and questioned whether the dispute needed to continue. She said, “If it’s about a bill, I’ll pay the bill. Is it that serious?”
The Husband Responded to the Customer

The customer continued questioning the decision to involve police over the disputed restaurant charge.
She said, “Do you know how unreasonable you sound to call the police?”
The husband responded that he did not care how his reaction sounded.
He said, “I don’t care if I sound unreasonable or not,”.
The conversation then moved to the subject of privilege. The customer said, “The privilege is killing you.”
How the Confrontation Ended

The manager eventually walked over to the table and removed the couple’s plate. She told the patron that she had other customers to take care of, apologized and said the patron could keep recording. The man did not follow through with calling the police.
The video did not show how the bill was settled. The post named neither the couple nor the manager and the account could not be independently verified.
