Easy Apple Freezer Jam Recipe

Easy Apple Freezer Jam Recipe

Autumn is my favorite season of the year, and I absolutely love all the delicious apple goodies that come with fall. With two apple trees in my yard, I have plenty of homegrown apples. To preserve the apples that my kids did not eat, I made a batch of apple freezer jam. I plan to use the apple jam when I make my thumbprint cookies for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 8 apples
  • 1 1.59-ounce package of Mrs. Wages No Cook Freezer Jam Fruit Pectin
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Directions

  1. Wash and slice the apples. Do not remove the skins.
  2. Place the apple slices in a large pot and cover with water.
  3. Cook the apples over medium-low heat until the apples are soft and the water has boiled off.
  4. Drain any excess water.
  5. Allow the cooked apples to cool slightly.
  6. Transfer cooled cooked apples to a large bowl.
  7. Blend until mostly smooth with a few small chunks.
  8. Stir in the pectin, sugar, and lemon juice.
  9. Transfer the freezer jam to glass jars.
  10. Allow the apple jam to cool.
  11. Freeze the jars of apple jam.
  12. Thaw the apple freezer in the refrigerator.
