Parents were urged to stop using more than 10,000 Arlopu children’s slide playsets after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall over head and neck entrapment hazards that could cause serious injuries or death.

Per the report, the November 5, 2026, recall affected around 10,318 playsets sold through Amazon and Walmart. The products featured slides, basketball hoops and other activity components designed for indoor and outdoor use.

The company also reported one incident in which a child suffered abrasions to the neck after becoming trapped.

The recall covered two Arlopu Slide Playset models:

  • KT-CS17
  • LY-31

The plastic playsets included a slide and basketball hoop and were available in tan, red, blue, yellow, gray and green.

Parents could identify the affected products by checking the model number on the product label. For model KT-CS17, the label was located underneath the elevated platform. For model LY-31, it appeared on the upper back panel behind the slide.

The recalled playsets were sold online through Amazon and Walmart between April 2023 and August 2026. They were priced between $90 and $130.

The CPSC said the recall included about 10,318 units.

Playsets Posed Head and Neck Entrapment Hazards

The CPSC identified multiple openings in the playsets that could allow a child’s torso to pass through while preventing the child’s head from fitting through.

This created a risk of head and neck entrapment, which could result in serious injuries or death.

The agency also identified an additional hazard involving the basketball nets on model KT-CS17. The nets could become detached from the rims and form loops large enough for a child’s head, creating entanglement and strangulation risks.

The company reported one entrapment incident involving the recalled playsets. The child suffered neck abrasions, although the recall notice included no further details about the incident.

Parents Were Told to Stop Using the Playsets Immediately

The CPSC advised consumers to stop using the affected Arlopu playsets immediately and store them somewhere children could not access them.

Parents were asked to check the model numbers carefully rather than relying only on the product’s appearance or color. Both models were included in the recall, and the labels were located in different areas depending on the model.

The company also confirmed through its recall information page that customers should not continue using the playsets while waiting for replacement parts.

The recall applied even if the products showed no visible damage or caused an incident.

Its official recall page also listed an online registration option for affected customers. After completing the repair, consumers were instructed to write the word “RECALLED” on the removed components using a permanent marker and dispose of those parts.
