Although I have never encourage the idea of the princess with my daughter, she has become obsessed with princesses recently. I have begun to allow her to watch some Disney princess movies including Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, and Aladdin. She also loves reading books with princesses. When recently offered the chance to review a personalized hardback copy of Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition written by Annie Sarac from Put Me in the Story in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add a new title to my home library.
About Put Me in the Story
Put Me in the Story believes in the power and magic of books. The company wants the book you create to be one that you come back to again and again and that becomes one of those cherished books that you want to keep forever even when your child outgrows the book. Put Me in the Story also believes that great personalization can create a profound connection between kids and books. The company has partnered with bestselling authors from sister publisher Sourcebooks to develop each book individually to make each personalized story a unique and amazing experience.
Recommended for children between the ages of 4 and 7, the 36-page Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition from Put Me in the Story features a brand new cover featuring Princess Belle of Beauty and the Beast with book in hand. While learning about the Disney princesses and matching each princess with her greatest wish, your little reader can fill in special pages with her (or his) own hopes and dreams and other information. The book begins with a personalized letter and Princess Passport to check off each princess while reading the book. As your child reads the book, she (or he) will also learn that being a princess is more than just wearing fancy dresses and living in a castle: Being a princess is about brave, honorable, kind, and hardworking. The paperback version costs $24.99 while the hardback version costs $34.99.
My daughter loves princesses at the moment, so she was super excited to receive her personalized copy of Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition. I customized the book with her name and photo and with a special dedication from me. Her picture appears at the beginning and end of the book and on the back cover. My dedication is at the front of the book. Her name appears throughout the book, and the gift-giver message “With love from Mommy” appears on the front cover. The personalization throughout the entire book makes the gift so much more special for a little girl (or boy) who wants to be a princess.
As soon as my daughter say her copy of Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition, she immediately started flipping through the pages and reading the information. She has been watching some Disney princess movies and reading the accompanying books. With her new personalized book, she has also been learning more information about each princess, which she absolutely loves. She also likes the sections in which she can fill in her own information. She loves practicing her writing skills and is thrilled to fill out her hopes and dreams as she pretends to be a princess herself.
In terms of physical quality, I am quite pleased with Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition. The binding of the hardback book is very sturdy, and the matte pages are quite thick. The book has already withstood the wear and tear that my daughter (and her baby brother) have put it through. My only complaint is that the pages are giving off a slightly unpleasant odor, which I attribute to the glue or ink. Hopefully the smell will dissipate with time. Overall, however, I am certain that this personalized book will last for years to come based on the high quality materials and construction.
If your child is into princesses as much as my daughter, definitely take a look at the personalized Dream Big, Princess: Belle’s Special Edition written by Annie Sarac from Put Me in the Story. The paperback version costs $24.99 and the hardback version $34.99. With a brand new cover featuring Princess Belle of Beauty and the Beast with book in hand, the book provides plenty of fun information about many of the Disney princesses. Little readers can also fill in special pages with own hopes, dreams, and other information. The quality of the book is quite high, and I anticipate my daughter reading and rereading her copy for years to come!
