Reese Witherspoon recently recalled the devastating wildfire that ravaged Los Angeles in October 2003.
On October 23, 2026, the 50-year-old actress penned a heartfelt birthday note for her eldest son, Deacon Phillippe, as he turned 23.
“Happy Birthday to my son Deacon, who is turning 23 today! The year you were born, there was a fire in LA. Raging all around us,” the Legally Blonde actress wrote on Instagram.
She shared a carousel of photos featuring Phillippe and herself throughout the years and called him their family’s beacon of light.
“Somehow that fire forged you: You were born into the light, you carry it inside you, and you help us see it in ourselves. I love you so much, so lucky to be your mom,” Witherspoon continued in her post.
What Does Deacon Phillippe Do?
The birthday post comes as Phillippe continues to make a name for himself in the creative world. The 23-year-old has followed in the footsteps of his parents, Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, by pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
In 2020, Deacon reportedly took his first steps as a music producer with the release of his single titled “Long Run.” The musician released it on July 10, 2020, featuring Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt.
In a previous interview, Deacon opened up about his passion for producing music.
“When I was listening to the radio in the car with my dad, something just clicked. I realized there’s more to making music than just being a vocalist, and that a lot of times it’s the production that makes me feel something,” the musician said.
Deacon also revealed at that time that he asked his dad about making music, adding, “he taught me all the stuff he knew, and then I started watching YouTube videos.”
Meanwhile, he has also made his acting debut in the third season of Netflix’s teen show Never Have I Ever.
