‘I See Do You See? Alphabets’ Personalized Book from KD Novelties Review

'I See Do You See? Alphabets' Personalized Book from KD Novelties Review

I love books, and so do my kids. The three of us head to the library multiple times a week and read a least a few books (if not more) each day. I have created a little home library in our school room, and our collection of books continues to grow. My kids and I especially love personalized books, which offer a bit more fun than traditional books. When recently offered the chance to review I See Do You See? Alphabets written by Kim Delgado and illustrated by Diego Li from KD Novelties in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add a new title to my home library. I personalized the book for my toddler son.

KD Novelties is her dream, and she is proud to operate a successful mom-owned business publishing and distributing personalized books by moms for moms to share with the children in their lives. Kim also volunteers weekly at her local soup kitchen and serves on the Board of Directors, meeting the needs of the homeless in her community.

Evaluation

Overall I am quite impressed with I See Do You See? Alphabets from KD Novelties. Every single two-page spread includes personalization, which makes reading the book so much more fun for younger children (and parents). “Hello Will Johnson, my name Fifel (feye-full) and I am a ferret,” begins the personalized ABC book. Each section of text includes the child’s name. The gift giver can also add in the names of three friends or relatives, which also appear throughout the pages of the book. The personalization also includes the hometown and state of the child.

I See Do You See? Alphabets is an interactive book that encourages little readers to think about words that start with each letter of the alphabet. Each set of pages asks the child to help search for word that begin with the letter featured on those pages. The illustrations are bold and colorful. Both my daughter and son love looking at all the pictures. The only negative comment that I must mention about the book is that the letter I includes a drawing of a stereotypical Indian in a feather headdress, which is a bit problematic. Otherwise, the illustrations and text throughout the book are perfect for helping children between the ages of 2 and 7 learn about the letters of the alphabet.

Children can be quite rough on books, especially favorite books. The binding of I See Do You See? Alphabets is very sturdy, and the pages are thick. The book has already withstood the wear and tear that my two kids have put it through. The book still looks as good as new, and none of the pages have any wrinkles. I am certain that this book will last for years to come based on the high quality materials and construction. I therefore rate I See Do You See? Alphabets very highly in terms of the quality.
