ESRB Age Rating Summary:

Cult of the Lamb is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Crude Humor, and Fantasy Violence. This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a possessed lamb brought back to life to create a cult following. Players traverse cartoony environments, attempt to rescue lost lambs, and use axes and daggers to battle enemy creatures (e.g., demons, evil monks, bats). Battles are highlighted by sword slashes, cries of pain, and screen-shaking effects. Enemies generally turn into skeletons and/or leave black stains when killed. Some environments depict impaled creatures on bloody spikes and blood stains on altars. During the course of the game, players can fulfill a character's request to cook a "bowl of poop," which is then eaten by a character; some custom designs also depict feces (i.e., poop coils).

Parental Notes

While many parents praise the gameplay experience, they caution that "Cult of the Lamb" is not suitable for young kids. The game features mild profanity and comical yet intense fantasy violence, with battles against demons and evil monks. The dark themes include bloodstains, impaled creatures, and rituals, which may be unsettling for some. The game also includes crude humor, such as cooking and eating a "bowl of poop." Parents often recommend this game for teens 13 and older due to its mature themes and the need for players to manage a cult, which involves dark rituals and overthrowing rival leaders.
