An Arizona woman said her date turned hostile when her companion began making racist remarks, then allegedly shoved her on the walk back to her car and laughed as her toe bled.
Elizabeth Thorne described the evening in a TikTok video. Thorne said the man asked her to meet him at a restaurant, where she found him seated at the bar. The date began normally, she said, with him seeming reserved.
“I’m like, whatever, maybe he’s just nervous. 30 minutes later, he really breaks out of his shell,” she said.
Detailing her date, she further added, “He starts telling me how he’s racist, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, alright.’ He’s telling me how he hates Mexicans. I’m like, ‘Do you know that I’m Mexican.'”
First Date Which Started Quietly Took an Uncomfortable Turn

“He told me I didn’t look Mexican, so it was fine with him,” Thorne said.
She further added that he went on to talk about other groups he disliked, speaking loudly enough that she began checking whether people nearby could hear.
“I knew I should have ended the date right then. I stayed because I wanted to see where the discussion goes on,” she added.

She recalled that her date was also rude to the bartender and added, “We were there for like 10 minutes, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have to leave.’ He was rude to the bartender, didn’t even tip him, so I had to tip him.”
Elizabeth Thorne Detailed Being Pushed into a Tree By Her Date

As they walked back to her car, she alleged, the man pushed her into a tree surrounded by a concrete border.
She said she stubbed her toe hard enough that it began to bleed. Thorne also alleged that he laughed and when she asked why, he answered, “I thought it was pretty funny.”
Her account has also revived conversation about first-date safety. Common advice reportedly included meeting in a public place, sharing plans and location with a friend, arranging your own transportation and leaving early if something feels off.
Date Guy Turned out To Be Her Neighbor

Thorne also revealed that she learned that the man lived in her apartment complex, in the unit right next door. She said she kept running into him regularly for months, until she eventually moved out.
Thorne’s video did not name the man or offer any details about the alleged incident beyond what she described in the clip.
