We’re trying to bring things into the world that we can share with our kids and that we can experience as a family.”
“And when we look at our shows, what we’re seeing is that multi-generational effect of people that were our age in their teens, who are now adults with their own kids, bringing them to shows. And I think the same thing will happen with this,” Nick continues. “It’s got such a wonderful place in our hearts, and the memories we have attached to it are so real to this day. So to get to bring that to life in a whole new way with this incredibly talented young cast will be really special.”

As detailed by RadioTimes, the highly anticipated sequel is set to be released on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026 and on Disney+ on August 14, 2026. The directors promise that “this new chapter honors the heart of the original while expanding the story for modern audiences.”
