Disney’s next trip to Arendelle is shaping up to be a very different kind of Frozen adventure.

Disney has given fans their first look at Frozen 3, revealing a major milestone for Anna and Kristoff: their royal wedding. The animated sequel is scheduled to arrive exclusively in theaters on November 24, 2027, continuing the story of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven.
The first-look footage shown at D23 begins with preparations for the wedding before introducing a much more ominous mystery. Elsa encounters a strange, powerful new threat, suggesting that the celebration may be short-lived.
Deadline describes Kristoff as Anna’s “mountain man,” while the footage reportedly shows Elsa in a striking new pink gown as the story moves beyond the familiar conflicts of the first two movies.
A Wedding, a New Villain and a New Love Story
The wedding isn’t the only relationship development in Frozen 3. Olaf appears to have fallen in love, with the movie introducing a new character named Samantha as the object of his affection.
Meanwhile, Elsa’s storyline appears to be considerably more mysterious. The new footage suggests that she discovers something connected to her powers and is drawn toward a dangerous new female antagonist, whose identity and motives remain largely secret.
The film also promises new music, including Olaf’s romantic number “Ooooh, Samantha,” performed at D23 by returning star Josh Gad. The story appears poised to balance the franchise’s trademark humor and romance with another supernatural adventure.
The Original Team Is Back
For longtime Frozen fans, one of the biggest reasons for optimism is how much of the creative and vocal team is returning. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad are back as Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf.
Jennifer Lee, who helped shape the first two films, returns as a co-writer and executive producer, while Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are also returning.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the movie’s first look was presented at D23 with the stars themselves helping introduce the new material. With Frozen 4 already in development, Disney clearly sees the franchise continuing well beyond this third chapter.
If the teaser is any indication, Anna may be getting her happily-ever-after—but Elsa is about to have a much bigger problem.
