The upcoming animated fantasy is shaping up to be one of Disney’s biggest original movies of 2026.

Disney is adding two major Hollywood names to Hexed, its upcoming animated fantasy adventure. Jodie Foster will voice the film’s villain, Queen Celeste, while Walton Goggins will play Beef Roger Crummchuk, a bizarre three-eyed cat who can reportedly remove his head and spin it around.
The additions give Hexed an impressive voice cast that already includes Hailee Steinfeld, Rashida Jones, Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry. Foster’s casting is particularly notable because, despite her decades-long career and history with Disney, this marks her first voice role in a Disney animated feature.
Foster called the experience “so much fun to return to Disney,” recalling that some of her earliest acting memories came from Disney productions.
A Teenager Discovers a Magical World
Hexed follows Billie, an impulsive teenage girl who discovers that she has magical abilities. Her powers transport her from suburban life into Hexe, a vast world populated by witches, where she must team up with her more cautious mother, Alice, and uncover family secrets that could affect the entire witch community.
Steinfeld voices Billie, while Jones plays Alice. The new additions make Goggins’ Beef and Foster’s Queen Celeste important pieces of a fantasy world that promises plenty of strange creatures, magic and supernatural adventure.
Disney has set Hexed for a November 25, 2026 theatrical release. The studio has also released teaser material giving audiences an early glimpse at Billie’s magical transformation and the unusual characters surrounding her.
Disney’s Next Original Animated Adventure
Hexed is being directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, with Josie Trinidad serving as co-director. Roy Conli and Yvett Merino are producing the film for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The movie has already generated attention for its playful approach to Disney’s long history of fantasy animation. Early footage has reportedly included enchanted objects reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast, while the filmmakers are putting their own spin on the familiar world of witches.
With a teenage heroine, a mysterious magical realm, a legendary actress playing the villain and a three-eyed cat voiced by Goggins, Disney appears to be betting that Hexed can become its next original animated hit.
