Kristen Bell recently opened up about challenges in family life while navigating marriage and raising two daughters.
In a recent interview, the Nobody Wants This actress got candid about balancing motherhood and her career.
“It’s hard. Do not think because I am on your television that it is easy for me. It’s brutal. I cry weekly,” Bell confessed.

The 46-year-old actress revealed that navigating parenthood with preteen and teenage daughters in the public eye is difficult.
“Oftentimes, when you’re in that cyclone of puberty, you could think, ‘My kid is the only one doing this.’ And that is just simply not a fact,” Bell said.
In the interview, the American actress and singer discussed her current approach to raising daughters Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11, in the spotlight.
“It’s always a debate between Kantianism and utilitarianism,” the Frozen star added.
Talking about keeping her kids first, Bell explained, “For the good of the people, we should share our dirty stories, we should share our shame, we should share our hardships. But for the good of the one? My main job in life is to protect those two.”

The actress also reflected on how her daughters have shaped her career choices in recent years.
“There’s nothing higher than that. I would easily let my whole career and all its legacy and notoriety [disappear] tomorrow if it meant sacrificing something major in my kids’ lives, or not being there,” Bell said.
The Good Place actress also recalled that she and her actor husband, Dax Shepard had shared “all the cute things” publicly when her girls were younger.
However, now that her daughters “could possibly be exposed to [media] or possibly have a feeling in response to” what the pair had revealed, Bell explained that “the equation has changed.”
“There’s someone else in the mix, and you have to have enough self-awareness and consideration to consider that person,” the Emmy Awards nominee added.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s Relationship Explored
Bell and Shepard first met in 2007. After dating, the couple got engaged over the holidays in 2009.
The actress reportedly first showed off her engagement ring on the red carpet in February 2010. The pair tied the knot in October 2013 at the Beverly Hills courthouse after six years of being together.
In October 2025, the actress took to Instagram and celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary with a sweet and funny post.
“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who, after and episode of Dateline, once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’” Bell captioned the post.
Their first daughter was born on March 28, 2013. The pair also welcomed their second daughter on December 19, 2014.
