A Florida woman said Walmart employees accused her of stealing her own Disney sweatshirt at a self-checkout lane, then told her to go to a back room so staff could check it. Tiffany Nicole, a TikTok creator who posts as @lifebytiffanynicole, said she refused and walked out of the store.

Nicole shared the encounter in a TikTok video. She said the incident began when she placed the sweatshirt beside her phone while scanning two storage bins.

She said a manager joined the employee and told her to check the garment’s tag in the back room. Nicole said she declined and that employees told her they would call the police.

In the video, Nicole said she went to Walmart only for the storage bins she needed to clean her car. “I just got the two bins. I’m at self-checkout,” she said.

Nicole said she put the sweatshirt beside her, with her phone on top, and reached into her purse for her card after scanning the bins. That was when an employee approached.

“She’s like, ‘Oh, so you don’t want these items?’” Nicole said and she answered that the items were her phone and her jacket.

Per Nicole, the employee then asked, “Can I see that? Because that really looks like one of our merchandise.”

Nicole said she told her it was a Minnie Mouse sweatshirt and that she had bought it at Disney World. She said she stayed calm and treated it as a misunderstanding.

The employee then said she would have to “call someone about this,” Nicole recalled, and asked whether Nicole was sure she had walked in with it. “Check the cameras,” Nicole said she told her.

Nicole said she finished checking out and was heading toward the exit when the employee returned with a manager. She said they told her she had to go to the back room so they could type in the number they believed was on the tag and confirm the sweatshirt was not Walmart merchandise.

Nicole said she showed them it carried a Disney tag. “I know I didn’t steal,” she said she told them. “I have my receipt. I walked in with this, and I’m walking out. You cannot stop me,” she added.

She added that she waited in the parking lot afterward and told viewers, “Truthfully, I’m still in the parking lot, so please show up.”

In the video, she said she bought the sweatshirt at “Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort hotel.” She later said that no officers ever came and the incident ended there.
