An Instagram user, @stefficasi, who goes by the name Steffi, shared a video last week revealing that police was called on her over a checkout dispute at Hilton.

“Imagine finishing a 13-hour surgical shift, returning to your hotel exhausted and still in scrubs, and having the police called on you over a checkout dispute. That was how my final day of externship ended,” she captioned her post.

She complained that the incident left her humiliated after an exhausting 13-hour shift.

She said the incident occurred at a Hilton property in downtown Orlando. Steffi detailed that she had arranged a “noon checkout,” but surgeries ran much longer than she expected.

“I didn’t return until around 8:30 p.m. I acknowledge that I missed checkout and hadn’t arranged another night,” Steffi said in her defence.

She further revealed that before she returned, her dad told her the hotel had charged his card approximately $250.

“I assumed they had charged me for another night because I hadn’t checked out. After such a long day, I wanted to rest instead of driving three hours home to South Florida,” she revealed.

However, when she went to the front desk, she was told that the hotel had charged her $250 as a penalty for missing checkout and not as a payment for another night.

“Now I’m having the police called on me by the front desk after they already charged me the room rate for the night because they couldn’t sell the room,” Steffi said in the video.

While the medical student said she asked whether she could book the night and pay whatever additional amount was needed, she recalled being told she was a liar.

“Instead, the interaction escalated. She disputed my late-checkout arrangement, called me a liar, and told me I had to collect my belongings and leave,” she added.

Steffi acknowledged that she became frustrated during the exchange. She further claimed in her video that the police officers were also confused.

“Just another day in the life. It doesn’t even make sense to the police officer. It should really make sense to him, bro. Even he’s confused. No, this is hilarious,” she added.

Her video gathered several views and concerning comments. The video reached over 30k users.

“This is so insane. Clearly you’re in scrubs and she is still following “policy”,” an Instagram user wrote.

Another added, “If I paid for it, it’s mine.”
