D is for duck! Help your toddler learn about the letter D by making a fun duck handprint craft.
Materials
- Brown, green, and orange nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the handprint with the fingers together onto the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on the heel of your child’s hand.
- Press the palm print onto the paper next to the heel of the handprint.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s finger.
- Press two finger prints to the side of the green palm print. Press to long fingerprints and two short fingerprint under the brown handprint. Reapply the orange paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “D is for duck” in orange on the paper.
