A Georgia IT manager said she discovered that a colleague was facing termination shortly after receiving a raise and promotion. When she looked into the situation, she learned that the employee’s friend in human resources had allegedly reported her for discussing her pay.

The friend allegedly reported the conversation to management, as per Tiffany Nicole, username @tiffany2.0official, an IT manager who shared the workplace story in two TikTok videos. The situation eventually took another turn when Tiffany herself lost her job after her employer discovered the videos

Tiffany explained that her IT responsibilities meant she sometimes learned about employee departures in advance because she had to revoke access to company accounts.

She said her boss and an HR representative informed her about a confidential termination involving a colleague she considered a good employee.

“I found out that the girl that they’re firing, she’s a really sweet girl,” Tiffany said, adding that the woman had recently received a raise and promotion.

According to Tiffany, the employee had celebrated the raise with a friend who worked in human resources. However, the HR friend allegedly reported her to management after the two discussed her pay.

Tiffany said she decided to warn the colleague because she remembered how unprepared she had felt when she was fired from a previous job.

“I remember when I got fired once before, how it felt,” she said. “I really wanted her to just take this opportunity to prepare herself.”

Tiffany later said the colleague was escorted out of the workplace by 9 a.m.

Tiffany said, “I’m walking through the parking lot, and I see my boss has already walked her to the car with her belongings. Like, she’s out of there, 9:00 on the dot, she’s removed. Like, the conversation has already happened.”

The employee reportedly recorded the termination meeting, during which management told her she was “not the right fit.” She was also said to be considering legal action over the dismissal.

However, Tiffany later said the woman backed away from pursuing legal action and stopped responding to her.

Three weeks after sharing her first video, Tiffany said she discovered she could no longer access her work email or Slack account.

She contacted the company handling her contract and asked whether the decision was connected to her TikTok posts. According to Tiffany, the representative confirmed it was “100% about the TikTok videos.”

Reflecting on the situation, she said, “I didn’t have anybody to give me a heads-up, unfortunately. How ironic.”

In her final video, many viewers shared their thoughts about the situation.

One noted, “What happened was they saw it and offered her a hefty settlement in her severance package to avoid a lawsuit, but there were stipulations and speaking to you further was one of them.”

One said, “You could’ve helped her without bringing her whole business online.” Another said, “You did the right thing. YOUR mistake was shouting it on social media.”

One also explained, “You didn’t jeopardize your job because you looked out for her, you jeopardized your job because you advertised it on social media. Not everything is for everyone.”

One said, “Tiffany I resonate with you. I feel and understand you. How your feeling I have felt my whole life.”
