My kids and I love making crafts together. My daughter is also obsessed with picking up rocks, sticks, leaves, pinecones, and more whenever we go on walks around town. I have incorporated natural elements like pinecones and sticks into quite a few of our past crafts. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones from PBS Kids in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add a new title to my home library. The kit currently costs $19.99.

Evaluation
As I have written many times before, I love making crafts with my kids. My kids and I also love getting outside when the weather is warm (or at least tolerable). Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones from PBS Kids gives me so many fun ideas to make with my two kids in the upcoming months. While the wet and yucky winter weather prevents us from playing outside for an extended period of time, we can still go out long enough to collect a few rocks or sticks from the yard. The full-color book then provides instructions for over 50 different crafts and activities.
Of all the activities in the Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones from PBS Kids, my daughter is most excited for the rock painting and other rock activities. She loves trying to snatch the rocks from the border about the house. She also loves picking up rocks when we go for walks around town and go to parks. I really like the idea of painting rocks to look like ladybugs and bumblebees for playing tic-tac-toe. My daughter is my little lady bug, and my son is my little pumpkin, so maybe I will paint some ladybug and pumpkin rocks instead!
I also love and appreciate the inclusion of the craft materials in the Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones kit from PBS Kids. The paint, paintbrushes, wiggle eyes, felt pieces, and glue make getting started on the activities ideas easy. I also keep plenty of extra supplies on hand at home, and most of the craft ideas in the book require only a little glue or paint to complete after you gather your backyard materials. Even if you live in a big city, you can still usually easily find things like rocks, sticks, and leaves to make the majority of the crafts. My kids and I are super excited to work on the 50+ activities in the book.
Final Verdict
If your kids love both the outdoors and crafting as much as mine do, definitely check out Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones from PBS Kids for more than 50 amazing and easy-to-follow craft and activity ideas. Using backyard finds such as rocks and sticks, young crafters can make paintings, fairy furniture, and more. The kit also comes with paint, paintbrushes, wiggle eyes, felt pieces, and glue, which make getting started on all the amazing crafts quick and easy. Kids can have an amazing time doing all sorts of backyard crafts and activities with Super Simple Crafts: Sticks and Stones.
