Jack Lowden recently gave a rare glimpse into parenthood and his relationship with his wife, Saoirse Ronan.
In a recent interview, the Slow Horses actor shared how he is finding parenting after he and his wife welcomed their first child together last year.
“Since I was a kid, I always knew I wanted to be a dad, and now I am,” Lowden revealed.

The Dunkirk star also discussed the feelings that come with becoming a father.
“You become aware that you’ll watch your kid grow up — sounds morbid,” Lowden said in his rare public comment about raising his first child.
“You think, ‘Oh my God, I’m in charge of a kid, and I’m still a kid myself,'” the 36-year-old British actor added.
Lowden and Ronan welcomed their first child together in September 2025. The pair have reportedly kept the name and gender of their baby strictly out of the public eye.

The actor also discussed the experience of watching his wife shine in the acting world.
“I’m going to sound a bit soppy, but getting to watch her act, in the flesh — that’s how we met — is really wonderful. She’s so at home doing it,” the Emmy Awards nominee said of watching the 32-year-old actress in an upcoming movie.
This comment came after Lowden reportedly tagged along while his wife shot a film in Italy this past summer.
This is not the first time the Pride and Prejudice star has spoken about Ronan’s acting skills.
“The woman is a force of nature on and off screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well,” he told the BUILD Series in 2018 about working with Ronan on Mary Queen of Scots.
“For being 24 years old, it’s just constantly amazing to me, not just her work but how she is on a set is amazing,” he added at that time.
How Did Jack Lowden and Saoirse Ronan Meet?
Lowden and Ronan reportedly first met in 2018, when the two costarred in the historical drama Mary Queen of Scots.
The pair got married during a private ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland in July 2024.
Lowden and Ronan made their first appearance as newlyweds at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. They have also attended other public events together over the years.
Meanwhile, the Little Women actress revealed her pregnancy in May 2025. She debuted her baby bump at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in France.
