My family is big on reading, and my kids love reading personalized books. What kid does not love seeing his or her name and photo in a story? In addition to regular books, our home library of personalized books has grown considerably over the past five years. When recently offered the chance to review two books from Put Me in the Story in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. I chose Can You Help an Elf? for daughter and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street for my son.

Price and Design
Can You Help an Elf?
I selected the personalized Can You Help an Elf? for daughter. The hardcover currently costs $34.99 and the paperback $19.99. The hilarious story follows Santa and his favorite elf who are on a mission to give presents to all the good little boys and girls. Unfortunately, some kids are more naughty than nice, trying to catch Santa and the elf. Personalize the festive Christmas book with your child’s name, photo, and a special dedication. The back of the book also includes a Christmas To Do List to check twice — just like Santa!
‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street
I seleceted the personalized ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street for my son. The hardcover currently costs $34.99 and the paperback $19.99. The holiday book reimagines the classic Christmas Eve poem with all your favorite furry friends including Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Abby Cadabby. While Cookie Monster is nestled all snug in his bed on Christmas Eve, he suddenly hears Santa outside and remembers that he ate all the cookies. With the help of his friends on Sesame Street, he bakes a new batch of cookies just in time! Personalize the fun holiday book with your child’s name, photo, and a special dedication.
Evaluation
When I first received my personalized copies of Can You Help an Elf? and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street from Put Me in the Story, I immediately noted the quality of the books. The hardback covers are cleanable with a damp cloth, which is a plus with my two active kiddos running around. I have cleaned the covers are far too many books already! The bindings are secure and should withstand years of reading by my enthusiastic children. The paper is high quality, and the printing is bright and clear. I cannot find any visible flaws in either book. I thus rate the quality of the personalized books from Put Me in the Story extremely highly.
In terms of personalization, I was able to add custom touches to both books. The full title of the elf book becomes Poppy, Can You Help an Elf? when I add in the personalization for my daughter. I also added the dedication “With Christmas Cheer, Mommy, Daddy, and Will” to the front cover. My daughter’s picture appears in two places in the book, and her name popps up throughout the story. In ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street, I was able to add my son’s name to the cover as well as the dedication “Merry Christmas from Mommy, Daddy, and Poppy.” His photo and name also appears in the book. I was also able to add a little personalized dedication to both my kiddos after the title pages. I thus rate Put Me in the Story extremely highly in terms of personalization.
My daughter and son love their new Christmas books. First, my daughter has been quite interested in elves lately, which is why I chose Can You Help an Elf? for her. The story is quite silly at times, which she loves. She and I both enjoy reading the rhymed text aloud and looking at the fun illustrations. My son absolutely adores his ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street! He loves Cookie Monster and the other characters from Sesame Street. As soon as he saw Cookie Monster on the cover of this book, he got super excited. The illustrations are true to the television show and remind me a bit of Elmo’s World. All in all, my kids are thrilled with their new personalized holiday books!
