Stuffed Crescent Rolls: A Quick and Easy Dinner Idea

Crescent rolls? Yum! Crescent rolls stuffed with meats and cheeses? Yummier! I was recently inspired to give my regular old crescent rolls a meal makeover by a dinner idea posted by fellow blogger Bulldogs and Brown Sugar. When I was a kid, my mom would occasionally wrap hotdogs up in crescent rolls to make pigs in a blanket. Bulldogs and Brown Sugar has taken the every day pig in a blanket to a more elegant level: stuffed crescent rolls.

Making stuffed crescent rolls is so easy. You just follow the baking directions on the package of crescent rolls but fill the dough with other foods before rolling. Over at Bulldogs and Brown Sugar, she filled her crescent rolls with pears, brie cheese, and walnuts and then turkey, provolone, and avocado. For my family, I have been experimenting with different combinations of meats and cheeses.

The first combination that I tried was salami and Munster cheese. I also tried a pepperoni and mozzarella stuffed crescent roll, which ended up tasting a lot like pizza. Finally I cooked up some chicken chunks and made crescent rolls stuffed with chicken and cheddar cheese. My husband and I liked all three combinations, but the salami and Munster was by far my favorite. Plus, I absolutely love that stuffed crescent rolls are such an easy meal to make!
