Storyline

In "Tooth on the Loose," Marcus discovers that the tooth fairy leaves money under pillows, and he becomes determined to lose one of his loose teeth so he can earn enough to buy his dad a special book about space. He tries various methods to wiggle the tooth free, enlisting the help of his friends and experimenting with different techniques throughout the day. His eagerness leads to some humorous moments as he learns that some things happen on their own time.

In "That Thing You Dew," the Dew Drops are excited to perform a concert in the park for their community, but their busy schedules keep getting in the way of rehearsal time. Each member of the group has different commitments and activities that prevent them from practicing together. The friends must figure out how to coordinate their schedules and make time for what matters to them, learning valuable lessons about teamwork and prioritization along the way.

What kids learn

Children learn about patience and letting natural processes unfold in their own time through Marcus's tooth-losing adventure. His eagerness to speed up something that will happen naturally teaches young viewers that trying to force certain milestones can be counterproductive, and that waiting for the right moment is often the best approach. The episode also models setting goals and working toward something meaningful, as Marcus's motivation comes from his desire to give a thoughtful gift to his father.

The concert storyline offers important lessons about time management and making space for the activities that matter most. Children see how the Dew Drops must balance multiple responsibilities and learn to communicate with each other about their availability. The episode demonstrates that achieving group goals requires coordination, compromise, and sometimes creative problem-solving when schedules conflict.

Both segments reinforce the value of persistence and working together with friends and family to overcome obstacles, whether those obstacles are physical, logistical, or simply a matter of timing.

Parents' top 5 questions

QuestionAnswer
Should I be concerned that my child will try to force their loose tooth out after watching Marcus? The episode ultimately teaches that teeth come out when they're ready, not when forced. Marcus learns through his experience that patience is important. You can use this as a conversation starter about letting loose teeth fall out naturally and why forcing them isn't safe. If your child has a loose tooth, remind them that wiggling gently is fine, but pulling or forcing can hurt and isn't necessary.
How much money does the tooth fairy typically leave, and will this episode set expectations? The episode focuses on Marcus wanting to earn money for a specific purpose rather than dwelling on exact amounts. This gives you flexibility with your own family's tooth fairy tradition. Many families leave anywhere from one to five dollars per tooth, though amounts vary widely. What matters most is the excitement and milestone celebration, not the specific amount left under the pillow.
What age do children typically start losing teeth? Most children begin losing baby teeth around age six, though the range of five to seven years old is completely normal. The lower front teeth usually come out first. If your child is watching this episode and hasn't lost any teeth yet, you can reassure them that everyone loses teeth at different times, and their turn will come when their body is ready.
How can I help my child balance multiple activities like the Dew Drops do in the concert story? The concert segment models important conversations about priorities and scheduling. Use it as an opportunity to talk with your child about their own activities and commitments. Help them create a simple visual schedule or calendar so they can see how their time is allocated. Discuss which activities are most important to them and whether any adjustments need to be made to prevent over-scheduling.
Is it appropriate for young children to think about earning money to buy gifts?Marcus's motivation to buy his dad a meaningful gift demonstrates thoughtfulness and generosity, which are positive values to encourage. The episode shows that giving doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate to be special. You can talk with your child about different ways to show appreciation for family members, including handmade gifts, acts of service, or spending quality time together alongside purchased presents.
