Storyline
When a new sphinx arrives at the museum, Ridley Jones and her team discover that she guards a mysterious vault that can only be opened by solving her riddles. The sphinx presents the group with a series of challenging puzzles and brain teasers that require careful thinking and teamwork to crack. Each riddle brings them closer to unlocking the vault's secrets, but the answers aren't always straightforward.
As Ridley and her friends work through the sphinx's riddles, they must listen carefully to the clues, think creatively about possible solutions, and collaborate to piece together the answers. The episode emphasizes problem-solving skills as the team learns that rushing to conclusions won't work—they need to consider each riddle from multiple angles. Through persistence and cooperation, they eventually solve the sphinx's challenges and gain access to the vault, discovering what treasures or knowledge lie inside.
What kids learn
This episode teaches children the value of critical thinking and careful listening. As Ridley and her friends encounter the sphinx's riddles, young viewers see that solving problems often requires slowing down, paying attention to details, and thinking through multiple possibilities before arriving at an answer. The riddles demonstrate that first instincts aren't always correct and that taking time to analyze a challenge leads to better outcomes.
The episode also reinforces the importance of teamwork and collaboration when facing difficult tasks. Ridley doesn't solve the riddles alone—she works with her friends, each contributing their own perspectives and ideas. Children learn that different people notice different clues and that sharing observations helps everyone reach solutions more effectively.
Additionally, the sphinx character introduces kids to the concept of perseverance. When one approach to a riddle doesn't work, the team tries another strategy rather than giving up. This models resilience and shows young viewers that challenges can be overcome through patience, creative thinking, and the willingness to keep trying even when answers don't come immediately.

| Is the sphinx character scary or intimidating for young viewers? | The sphinx in this episode is presented as a friendly guardian rather than a threatening figure. While she poses challenges through her riddles, her demeanor is helpful and encouraging rather than menacing. The show maintains its gentle, museum-adventure tone throughout, ensuring that the sphinx fits within the series' established world of living exhibits who are ultimately allies to Ridley and her team. The focus remains on the fun of puzzle-solving rather than creating tension or fear. |
| Does this episode encourage my child to ask questions and think critically? | Yes, the episode models questioning and analytical thinking as Ridley and her friends work through each riddle. Children see the characters discussing possible answers, reconsidering their assumptions, and testing different ideas before finding solutions.
