A TikTok creator said an older white woman pulled over, photographed her and told her the police had been called while she walked through a Jackson neighborhood. Xenia Minton said she believes she was racially profiled.
In a video posted on TikTok, Minton said she was on her usual walk, wearing a tank top and blue leggings, when the stranger stopped her at the roadside and said, “I’m taking photos of you before calling 911.”
Minton said she had no idea what prompted the reaction. She said she froze once 911 was mentioned and did not think to record the exchange.
A Routine Walk Interrupted With Racism

According to Minton, the woman told her, “I’m taking photos of you now. I already called the police.”
She said in her video that she initially assumed the driver needed directions or help, so the moment caught her off guard.
“I literally thought the lady had pulled me over to ask for directions or help,” she said.
“I didn’t even process it until later when I was talking to all my friends and that they were all saying like, you just got racially profiled,” Minton further added.
Minton described the moment as one of the strangest she has experienced. Meanwhile, the driver has reportedly not been publicly identified. It is also unclear whether officers were sent to the neighborhood.
Why Unfounded 911 Calls Can Put Innocent People at Risk

Minton’s account joins a string of viral videos in which people say a neighbor’s call to police was prompted by their presence, not by any wrongdoing.
Such incidents have drawn national attention in recent years, and they often renew debate over racial profiling and the use of emergency lines for non-emergencies.

“I had only been walking through the neighborhood, yet found myself questioning whether I had been singled out because of my race. The woman allegedly gave me no explanation,” she further added.
Minton’s story spread largely because of its simplicity. She said in the video that she was adopted from China and has lived in the United States her entire life.
Concluding her post, Minton said, “But people told me I should make a TikTok about it because, I’m trying to go viral. So if there’s anything to go viral over.”
