A woman who underwent a 14-hour brain surgery said she was shocked to discover that her husband wasn’t waiting to see her when she woke up in the neuro ICU but was actually in another part of the hospital speaking to another woman.
Ann M., TikTok username @lazyfacedmom, shared a video that included multiple red flags in her marriage. The couple then allegedly hosted a party for around 50 people while she was still recovering from her surgery and caring for her 5-week-old baby.
She Asked Where Her Husband Was After Surgery
Ann said the operation involved removing a growth from her brainstem and lasted approximately 14 hours.
When hospital staff wheeled her into the neurological ICU, she expected her husband to be waiting for her. She recalled, “The sweet, sweet nurse goes, ‘Your dad’s here.’ And I said, ‘My dad? I didn’t want anyone but my husband to be there.”
She said she immediately asked, “Where’s my husband?”
Per her account, the nurse explained that he was down the hall talking to another woman. Ann said she had wanted her husband to be the first person she saw after the surgery, but hospital staff had to encourage him to come into her room.
She said, “They had to tell him, ‘Can you please come into her room to check on your wife? She just got out of brain surgery. They just scooped a golf ball off of her brainstem. Would you like to check on her?’”
Husband Allegedly Partied While She Was Recovering
Ann said her recovery left her with significant physical limitations. She said, “Head shaved, eye sewn shut because my face was lazy. This is a huge improvement. My whole eye was sewn shut. Couldn’t talk. Drooling out of my mouth. Couldn’t walk. Had a walker. Couldn’t eat.”
Despite her condition, she alleged that her husband organized a party at their home attended by around 50 people.
She said she felt uncomfortable being the center of attention while she was still recovering. The guests praised her husband for taking care of the family, while she felt exposed and vulnerable.
“He threw a party so everyone could see and give him compliments and gawk at me like a circus freak,” she said.
She Allegedly Crawled Across the Floor to Feed Their Newborn
Ann said the situation became even more difficult when their five-week-old baby started crying during the gathering.
She explained that she was not supposed to lift anything heavier than a plate. She said she repeatedly asked her husband to bring the baby’s bottle, but he was intoxicated and did not respond.
He kicked her when she tried to get his attention. She said, “I get up, make the bottle with my little walker, make my way back over there, feed him on the floor. Crying. Because this is my life.”
Ann Said the Incident Was One of the Several Warning Signs
Ann shared the experience while responding to viewers who had asked whether there had been warning signs before her marriage ended.
She also alleged that her former husband had a serious drinking problem, claiming he could consume a gallon of whiskey every other day. The TikToker later divorced him and continued sharing accounts of what she described as his behavior during their relationship.
