Families with young PAW Patrol fans have another big-screen adventure to look forward to, with a fourth movie officially in development and targeting a 2029 theatrical release. The announcement comes as the franchise’s latest installment, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, prepares to make its streaming debut.
Spin Master, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies have announced that PAW Patrol 4 is in development, with Paramount Pictures planning to distribute the animated feature in 2029. Although the fourth movie does not yet have an official title or storyline, the announcement confirms that Ryder and his rescue pups will return for another adventure.
Meanwhile, families won’t have to wait nearly as long to watch the latest installment at home. PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie will make its exclusive streaming premiere on Paramount+ on November 12, 2026, following its theatrical release in August.
The third movie follows the pups as they crash-land on an island inhabited by dinosaurs. When Mayor Humdinger’s schemes trigger a volcanic eruption, the team must work with their prehistoric friends to save the day.
Who Is Returning for PAW Patrol 4?
Director Cal Brunker will return to helm the fourth installment, having directed all three previous theatrical movies. He will also reunite with screenwriter Bob Barlen, who has collaborated with him on the franchise.
Brunker expressed excitement about the next chapter, saying, “We’ve written a new story that we think audiences are going to love, and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” according to Movieguide.
However, families shouldn’t expect a confirmed voice cast just yet. Neither the returning performers nor the movie’s budget, production schedule or specific release date has been announced.
PAW Patrol’s Movie Franchise Is a Box Office Success
There is a good reason the studios are investing in another movie. According to Deadline, the three previous theatrical releases have generated approximately $510 million worldwide, demonstrating the franchise’s popularity with families.
The movies include 2021’s PAW Patrol: The Movie, 2023’s PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and 2026’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. The franchise has also generated approximately $18 billion in lifetime retail sales through Skydance Products & Publishing.
With more than a decade of success behind it, PAW Patrol continues to be a major entertainment property for preschoolers. The planned 2029 release gives families another adventure to anticipate, while the upcoming streaming premiere offers something much sooner.
