Although babies tend to need a lot of gear, the biggest downside to most baby gear is that, once the baby is no longer a baby, the gear becomes obsolete. Thus, when I recently stumbled across the Beyond Junior Y Chair from Abiie, I was intrigued by the ease with which the highchair converts to a regular chair. After contacting Abiie about writing a review, I received a Beyond Junior Y Chair in a mahogany finish with cream white cushions.
In addition to the beautiful mahogany that I received, Abiie also offers the Beyond Junior Y Chair in a gorgeous natural finish with earth green cushions. Unlike more conventional highchairs, the Y Chair is an ultra-modern wooden chair designed to grow with your child from infancy to adulthood. The specifications of the Beyond Junior Y Chair are as follows:

Safety is a top priority at Abiie. The Beyond Junior Y Chair meet or exceed ASTM F404-10, HR.4040 & JPMA 2.0 standards and contains no potentially harmful substances such as BPA, phthalate, PVC, nitrosamine, latex, and formaldehyde. Wooden components are finished with non-toxic and certified-safe lacquer. Safety tests performed on the Y Chair include torque, tension, drop, pull, statis load, stability, restraint system, and chemical safety. The wooden tray can hold up to 40 pounds of weight. The seat and footrest grooves are designed with extra depth to secure both components in place. Thus, in terms of safety, I am extremely impressed with the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair.
Made from top-quality European cultivated beech wood, the Beyond Junior Y Chair from Abiie is both sturdy and eco-friendly. Assembling the Y Chair is also incredibly easy. By following the directions in the instruction manual, my toddler daughter and I quickly put the chair together without any help. (And I am notoriously bad at assembling furniture!) Most of the screws were already loosely attached to the various pieces of the chair, which made assembly a snap. The instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow.
One of my favorite features of the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair is the EZ-Seat. Unlike conventional highchairs, the seat and footrest of the Y Chair adjust to fit babies as young as six months old and younger children who need taller booster seats through older children who use regular chairs and even adults. The chair holds up to 200 pounds while the tray holds up to 40. In other words, the Beyond Junior Y Chair grows with a child. When my daughter outgrows the smallest highchair setting of the Y Chair, I can simply adjust the seat and footrest to reconfigure the chair to my growing child!
Adjusting the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair is incredibly easy. Unlike other adjustable chairs, no additional tools are needed to reconfigure the Y Chair. Once the chair is assembled, all you do is press the plastic levels on the bottom of the seat and footrest and gently slide each piece out of the grooves on the chair. To reinsert the pieces, again press the plastic levers and gently slide each piece back into another set of grooves until a click sounds. Adjusting the Beyond Junior Y Chair takes only a few seconds and requires no tools. You can easily change the height and configuration of the chair. Because of the ease with which I can adjust the seat and footrest, the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair is truthfully my new favorite highchair for my daughter!

Transcription: Hi! I’m Heather from The Parenting Patch. And I’m here to show you just how easy it is to use the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair. Unlike other high chairs, the Y chair grows with your children from six months through adulthood. The EZ Seat allows for quick adjustment of the seat and footrest, allowing you to convert the Y chair from a highchair to a regular chair to anywhere in between. To adjust the seat or footrest, begin by pressing the plastic levers on the bottom of the seat and slide the seat out from the grooves. Press the levers again and gently slide the seat back into the chair until you hear a click. Follow the same steps when adjusting the footrest. With only the press of a lever, you can easily adjust the height and configuration of the Y chair. For more information about the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair, be sure to check out my full review on The Parenting Patch.
In addition to the wooden chair, the Beyond Junior Y Chair also comes with detachable water-resistant seat cushions made from polyester and backed with a breathable fabric. The Y Chair also features a detachable restraint system. The restraint system can be adjusted for a 5-point harness or a 3-point harness. At just over two years old, my daughter currently uses the 3-point system. Younger babies can use the 5-point system for added safety and security. Adjusting the size of the harness is fairly easy but does require a bit of work. However, I consider the time necessary to adjust the harnesses a plus because I do not want safety belts that my young child can easily change!
The wooden tray with BPA-free dishwasher-safe cover makes mealtimes a breeze. Removing and inserting the tray is also as easy as pressing a button on both sides of the tray and sliding the tray in and out of the super sturdy plastic brackets. My toddler daughter loves feeding herself from her own plate or bowl. The plastic tray easily and quickly wipes clean after meals. For larger messes, wash the tray cover in the sink or toss the entire plastic cover in the dishwasher. My daughter especially loves the little cup holder molded into the plastic cover. She loves setting her sippy cup in the holder during meals. The rest of the chair also easily wipes clean.
Final Verdict: The Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair is my new favorite highchair for my daughter. The Y Chair is incredibly easy to assemble and even easier to adjust. With the press of a lever, I can quickly change the height and configuration of the seat and footrest. The Beyond Junior Y Chair is made from durable and sustainable wood and durable plastic pieces. The harness, which converts from a 5-point system to a 3-point system, keeps my daughter safely seated in her chair. The tray is easy to use and clean. If you are searching for a highchair that will grow with your child from infancy through adulthood, I highly recommend the Beyond Junior Y Chair from Abiie.
