Spring will soon be in the air! To help prepare your young reader for the changing of the seasons, try reading a spring-themed board book. Here are some favorites that my daughter and I discovered last year.
Spring (2011)
Spring (2011) from Roger Priddy is a touch and feel book that introduces the littlest readers to the sights of spring such as chicks, bunnies, and flowers. Younger children will delight in reading about the spring season while exploring the textures on each page of the book.
Baby Loves Spring! (2012)
Baby Loves Spring! (2012) written and illustrated by Karen Katz is an interactive lift-the-flap book for children between the ages of 1 and 4 years old. Young readers will enjoy helping Baby discover the springtime world in this seasonal book full of colorful illustrations and simple text.
Hello Kitty, Hello Spring! (2013)
Hello Kitty, Hello Spring! (2013) from Jean Hirashima features the beloved character Hello Kitty in a simple seasonal book for children between the ages of 1 and 4. Young readers will delight in the colorful, stylized pictures while learning many vocabulary words associated with the spring season.
