I have always loved National Geographic. I remember flipping through the pages of the magazine as a kid. Now that I have my own children, I also love the products from National Geographic Kids. I recently review an “Explore the Outdoors” set of materials from National Geographic Kids that my kids and I absolutely love. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review the “Dive Into Summer” set in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. The materials encourage kids to dive into learning about the real characters from Finding Dory. Both my toddler and preschooler love Finding Nemo, and my daughter loved Finding Dory, so I eagerly anticipated sharing National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book, Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue, and Dory plushie with my kiddos.
National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book
My daughter loves completing workbooks during her homeschool lessons. I also enjoyed workbooks too, so she and I use a lot during school time. Recommended for kids between the ages of 4 and 8 in preschool through third grade, National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book features skill-building puzzles and mazes, spelling and pattern games, drawing activities, photos, facts, and other activities that will keep early learners entertained (and learning) for hours on end. The activity book also includes 1,000 cool stickers featuring favorite ocean animals including dolphins, coral, fish, sea turtles, seals, and more.
I am super excited to use National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book with my daughter during homeschooling next fall. (I already bought a second copy to use with my son when he gets older!) I can see us watching the movies, reading about the ocean, and then using this workbook to supplement her learning. My daughter especially loves stickers, so the sticker activities will go over really well with her. I also love the variety of activities throughout the book. My daughter will be able to practice so many skills in a single workbook. I also love all the colorful illustrations. Some activity books are a little bland with all black and white photos, but not this book! After my daughter finishes all the activities, she can then read through the book again and again to go over all the fabulous information. The sticker activity books from National Geographic Kids are absolutely amazing!

Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue
My preschooler and toddler love looking at nonfiction books full of colorful photos. Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue from National Geographic Kids introduces kids between the ages of 8 and 12 in third through seventh grade to the many creatures in the oceans around the world. Striking photographs illustrate an amazing collection of marine life including polar bears, penguins, colorful sea stars, luminescent fish, bright coral reefs, sharks, and more. The book includes an introduction, eleven chapters, and a glossary. Young fans of the movies will even learn about the real life Nemo and Dory. I definitely see myself using this fabulous nonfiction book during homeschool lessons for many years to come.
My four-year-old daughter is pretty academically advanced and is starting kindergarten level studies in the fall. However, she currently reads at a first or second grade level. Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue is recommended for slightly more advanced readers, but she can already understand quite a bit of the text. She especially likes reading the headings aloud while I then read the denser paragraphs. My toddler son absolutely loves looking at the colorful photographs. He loves fish, and my kids and I recently visited the aquarium in Kansas City, so this book could not have come at a better time. This book is absolutely perfect for learning about ocean habitats and marine wildlife!

Dory Plushie
In addition to the sticker activity book and nonfiction book, I also received a Dory plushie from National Geographic Kids as part of the “Dive Into Summer” set. As soon as my toddler son saw Dory, he grabbed her and took off with her. I had to wrestle him to get the plastic packaging off! My preschooler daughter is also crazy about the plushie. She got to see Finding Dory in the theater with her daddy, so she was super excited when I showed her the new Dory toy. Finding Nemo and Finding Dory fans will be sure to love the accompanying Dory plushie.
Final Verdict
If your child is a fan of Finding Dory, then the National Geographic Kids “Dive Into Summer” learning set is perfect for you! Both my toddler and preschooler love looking at the full color photographic illustrations in the nonfiction Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue. I am also looking forward to sharing National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book with my daughter during homeschool lessons this fall. Both kiddos absolutely adore the Dory plushie, especially my daughter who got to see the movie in the theater. I therefore highly recommend the “Dive Into Summer” set from National Geographic Kids!
