My toddler daughter and I love making handprint and footprint crafts together. Whenever I get out the paint, she gets extremely excited and starts shouting, “Craft! Craft!” For our spring craft, she and recently made a spring flowers handprint-footprint craft.
Materials
- Red, orange, yellow, and green nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the handprint into the center top of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the handprint into the upper left of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the handprint into the upper right of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s left foot.
- Press the footprint onto the lower left of the paper at an angle.
- Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s right foot.
- Press the footprint onto the lower right of the paper at an angle.
- Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
