'Thank You, Bees' Book Review

Both my children have loved books from an early age. My daughter started reading at age 4, and my preschooler son will soon begin his journey to readership as he begins recognizing letters. Both my kiddos also love listening to me read books aloud, and my son is especially fond of colorful picture books with shortened text that I read to him again and again. When recently offered the chance to review Thank You, Bees written and illustrated by Toni Yuly in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add a new title to my home library.

Evaluation

Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thank You, Bees provides a simple message about thankfulness for the youngest readers. My almost 6-year-old easily breezes through the pages, and my preschooler son enjoys hearing me or his big sister read the book aloud. Because of the limited text, I am happy to reread the book to my son again and again when he asks. The torn paper illustrations are bright and color with simple images that bring the text to life. Toddlers and infants younger than 2 can also enjoy the bold collages throughout the pages. Thank You, Bees is a perfect read during the holiday season and throughout the rest of the year.
