Trick or Treat Halloween Footprint Craft

My daughter and I love making handprint and footprint crafts together. Whenever she sees me put the little bottles of paint out on the counter, she gets super excited about making a new craft. For Halloween this year, she and I have already made a spider and black cat handprint craft and an owl handprint-footprint craft. The third Halloween craft that we made was a footprint trick or treat craft with paint in the color of candy corn (orange, white, and yellow). If you too want to make an adorable keepsake that locks a tiny part of your child in time, try my trick or treat Halloween footprint craft.

Materials

  • Orange, white, and yellow nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour a small amount of orange, white, and yellow paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread three blocks of the paint on the bottom of your child’s left foot. The colors resemble the colors of candy corn.
  3. Press the footprint onto the left side of the sheet of paper.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  5. Use a cotton ball to spread the same pattern of the three blocks of the paint on the bottom of your child’s right foot.
  6. Press the footprint to the right of the first footprint.
  7. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  8. Using the orange paint and a paintbrush, paint “Trick or Treat” in the top right of the paper.
  9. Using the yellow paint and a paintbrush, paint “Smell My Feet” in the bottom right of the paper.

Update: I again made trick or treat footprint crafts with my daughter and son. For the second time around, I used orange paper to make the white paint stand out better.
