My kids and I love making crafts together for the holidays. For our most recent Thanksgiving craft, my daughter and I made a turkey using handprints and construction paper.
Materials
- Red, orange, yellow, green, and brown nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Brown, yellow, orange, and red construction paper
- Wiggle eyes
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one red handprint on the bottom left of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one yellow handprint above the red handprint.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one green handprint above the yellow handprint
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one brown handprint below the green handprint
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one orange handprint on the bottom right of the paper below the brown handprint
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Cut a large brown circle from the brown construction paper.
- Cut a smaller yellow circle from the yellow construction paper.
- Glue the yellow circle in the center of the brown circle.
- Cut an orange triangle and two legs from the orange construction paper.
- Cut a wiggly shape from the red construction paper.
- Glue two wiggle eyes on the top center of the yellow circle.
- Glue the orange triangle under the wiggle eyes.
- Glue the red wiggly shape next to the orange triangle.
- Glue the orange legs to the bottom of the brown circle.
- Glue the brown circle to the center of the handprints.
