T is for turkey! Help your toddler learn about the letter T by making a fun turkey handprint craft.
Materials
- Red, orange, yellow, brown, and white nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one red handprint on the bottom left of the paper.
- Reapply the red paint to your child’s hand.
- Press one red handprint on the bottom right of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s hand.
- Press one orange handprint above the red handprint on the bottom left of the paper.
- Reapply the orange paint to your child’s hand.
- Press one orange handprint above the red handprint on the bottom right of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the yellow handprint between the two orange handprints.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s hand excluding the thumb.
- Press the brown handprint under the yellow handprint with the fingers pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two white fingertip prints into the center of the palm of the brown handprint. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press one red fingertip print under the white fingertip prints.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint two brown pupils in the centers of the white fingertip prints.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “T is for turkey” in brown on the paper.
