Storyline
Babs Gordon and Harley Quinn head to GothamCon, the city's premier comic and pop culture convention, where Babs is determined to meet her hero, Batman. Throughout the convention floor, Babs searches eagerly for any sign of the Dark Knight, navigating crowds of cosplayers and vendor booths with Harley in tow. Her excitement builds as she imagines finally getting to meet the legendary vigilante face-to-face.
Instead of Batman, however, Babs encounters Robin, the Boy Wonder. While initially disappointed that she didn't meet her primary hero, the episode explores Babs's interaction with Robin and the convention experience itself. The eleven-minute episode captures the energy and enthusiasm of fan conventions while focusing on Babs's journey from expectation to the reality of who she actually meets. Harley's presence adds comedic energy to their convention adventure, and the episode celebrates fandom culture within the DC Super Hero Girls universe.
What kids learn
This episode teaches children about managing expectations and finding value in unexpected experiences. Babs enters GothamCon with a specific goal in mind—meeting Batman—but learns that sometimes life delivers different outcomes than we plan for. Rather than letting disappointment ruin her experience, she discovers that meeting Robin can be meaningful in its own right. This lesson helps kids understand that flexibility and openness to new experiences can lead to positive outcomes even when things don't go exactly as hoped.
The episode also celebrates the joy of fandom and community. By setting the story at a convention, it validates children's enthusiasm for their favorite characters and stories, showing that being passionate about heroes and fiction is something to embrace rather than hide. Kids see that sharing interests with others—whether through cosplay, collecting, or simply attending events—creates connections and memorable experiences.
Additionally, the episode touches on friendship dynamics as Babs and Harley navigate the convention together. Children observe how friends can support each other's interests even when they have different goals, and how shared adventures strengthen bonds between people.
