Storyline
After being recruited as Glitch Techs in the previous episode, Miko and High Five report for their first day of training. They quickly discover that the mandatory tutorial sessions are tedious and repetitive, consisting of boring safety videos and basic protocol drills that feel far removed from the exciting glitch-battling action they experienced during their recruitment. Restless and eager to prove themselves, the two new recruits grow increasingly frustrated with the slow pace of their orientation.
Determined to liven things up, Miko and High Five decide to skip ahead in their training and tackle a real glitch on their own. Their unauthorized field mission goes sideways when they encounter a glitch that multiplies and creates disgusting, slimy duplicates. The situation escalates quickly as the gross creatures spread throughout the area, forcing the rookie Glitch Techs to confront the consequences of ignoring proper training procedures. The episode reinforces that shortcuts and impatience can turn a manageable problem into a much larger mess.
What kids learn
This episode teaches children about the importance of patience and following proper training procedures, even when they seem boring or unnecessary. Miko and High Five's eagerness to jump into action before they're ready demonstrates how skipping foundational steps can lead to bigger problems. Young viewers see that rules and protocols exist for good reasons, and that experienced mentors structure training deliberately to build competence safely.
The episode also explores the consequences of overconfidence and impulsiveness. The rookie Glitch Techs assume they already know enough to handle real situations, but their lack of complete training leaves them unprepared for unexpected complications. Children learn that admitting what you don't know and being willing to learn from others is a sign of maturity, not weakness.
Additionally, the story reinforces themes of responsibility and accountability. When Miko and High Five's shortcut creates a larger problem, they must face the results of their choices. The episode shows kids that taking initiative is valuable, but recklessness disguised as confidence can put themselves and others at risk. True competence comes from combining enthusiasm with discipline and proper preparation.
Parents' top 5 questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Why do Miko and High Five find the training so boring? | The Glitch Tech training consists of safety videos and basic protocol instruction that feels slow and repetitive to the eager new recruits. After the excitement of their recruitment mission, sitting through mandatory tutorials seems tedious. The episode uses this contrast to show how foundational training, while not glamorous, prepares people for real challenges. It's a relatable scenario for kids who sometimes want to skip the basics and jump straight to the fun parts of learning something new. |
| What kind of glitch do they encounter when they go off on their own? | Miko and High Five face a glitch that creates gross, slimy duplicates of itself, multiplying the problem exponentially. The disgusting nature of the creatures adds a comedic but consequential element to their unauthorized mission. The glitch's ability to spread quickly illustrates how a situation can spiral out of control when handled improperly. This visual representation helps children understand that small mistakes can compound into bigger problems when proper procedures aren't followed. |
| Do Miko and High Five get in serious trouble for skipping training? | The episode focuses more on the natural consequences of their actions—dealing with the multiplying gross glitch they unleashed—rather than formal punishment. They learn through direct experience why the training exists and why rushing ahead was a mistake. This approach teaches accountability through cause and effect rather than external discipline. The mess they create becomes its own lesson about the value of patience and proper preparation in their new roles. |
| Is the gross content in this episode appropriate for younger children? | The slimy, multiplying glitches are designed to be comedically disgusting rather than frightening or graphic. The gross-out humor is typical of animated shows aimed at tweens and falls within the show's established cartoonish style. Most children who enjoy action-comedy animation will find the content silly rather than disturbing. Parents of particularly sensitive younger viewers may want to preview, but the episode maintains a lighthearted tone throughout despite the messy situation. |
| What does this episode teach about balancing enthusiasm with following rules? | The episode demonstrates that enthusiasm and initiative are positive traits, but they need to be balanced with patience and respect for established procedures. Miko and High Five's eagerness to prove themselves is admirable, but their impatience leads to preventable problems. Children learn that true competence comes from combining passion with discipline, and that sometimes the boring parts of learning are the most important. The story validates kids' desire for excitement while showing why structure and training matter. |
