Storyline

When Ms. Winkleman asks Zoey to watch her beloved dog Rex while she's away, Zoey eagerly accepts the responsibility. She's excited to care for the precious pup and prove she can handle the job. However, the mischievous villain Tricksy has other plans and decides to cause chaos by swapping Rex with another dog, creating confusion and panic.

Zoey must transform into her superhero alter ego StarBeam to solve the puppy mix-up before Ms. Winkleman returns. StarBeam uses her powers and problem-solving skills to track down the real Rex and undo Tricksy's prank. The episode follows StarBeam as she works to make things right, ensuring that the correct dog is safely returned and that Zoey's promise to Ms. Winkleman is kept.

What kids learn

This episode teaches children about the importance of responsibility and following through on commitments. When Zoey volunteers to watch Rex, she takes on a real obligation to care for someone else's pet, showing young viewers that promises matter and that others are counting on us to do what we say we will do.

Children also learn about problem-solving under pressure. When Tricksy's prank creates an unexpected challenge, StarBeam doesn't give up or panic. Instead, she uses her abilities and critical thinking to figure out how to fix the situation. This demonstrates that mistakes and problems can be solved with persistence and creative thinking.

The episode reinforces the value of trustworthiness and making things right when something goes wrong. Even though the mix-up wasn't Zoey's fault, she takes action to correct it, teaching children that being reliable means working to fix problems even when they're caused by someone else's mischief.
