Appetizers for Thanksgiving Dinner: Cheese Ball Recipes

I love cheese! On special occasions such as Thanksgiving, I love eating crackers with cheese from a cheese ball. Although cheese balls can be bought from the store, a homemade one tastes even better. So, if you are looking for some recipes for appetizers for Thanksgiving dinner, try one or more of the following cheese ball recipes.

For some more classic appetizers for Thanksgiving dinner, try a bacon and green onion cheese ball served with crackers:

Bacon and Green Onion Cheese Ball

Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounces packages of cream cheese
  • 1 pound of bacon
  • 1 green onion
  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise

Directions

  1. Allow the cream cheese to soften.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy.
  3. Chop the cooked bacon and green onion until finely chopped.
  4. Combine the softened cream cheese, bacon, green onion, and mayonnaise.
  5. Form the mixture into a ball.
  6. Refrigerate for three to four hours before serving.
  7. Refrigerate any uneaten bacon cheese ball.

Cheese balls just scream of the holidays for me. Because I am preparing the Thanksgiving Day food this year, I will be making one or more of these delicious cheese balls as one of my appetizers for Thanksgiving dinner. Hint, hint: The bacon and cheddar cheese ball is my favorite!
