B Is for Butterfly Footprint Craft

B is for butterfly! Help your toddler learn about the letter B by making a fun butterfly footprint craft.

Materials

  • Blue, pink, and purple nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some blue and pink paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of blue paint on the top of your child’s foot and a thin layer of pink paint on the bottom of the same foot.
  3. Press the footprint onto the paper.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  5. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of blue paint on the top of your child’s other foot and a thin layer of pink paint on the bottom of the same foot.
  6. Press the footprint onto the paper next to the first footprint with the big toes and heels touching.
  7. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  8. Pour some purple paint onto the cardboard.
  9. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of purple paint on your child’s finger.
  10. Press fingerprints between the two footprints and two fingerprints from each big toes. Reapply the paint as needed.
  11. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  12. Use a paintbrush to paint “B is for butterfly” in purple on the paper.
