Brandy Slush Recipe

When I was a kid, my dad made brandy slush for him and my mom around Christmas and New Year’s. I fondly remember my father sipping on the icy treat while my brothers and I played next to him in the living room. Now that my dad is gone, I borrowed the recipe from my mom so that I could keep the tradition of making brandy slush during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 6 black teabags
  • 12 ounces of frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 12 ounces of frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 2 cups of brandy
  • 7 Up or Sprite

Directions

  1. Thaw the orange juice and lemonade.
  2. Combine the sugar with 7 cups of water.
  3. Boil and cool.
  4. Combine the teabags with 1 cup of water.
  5. Boil and cool.
  6. Remove the teabags from the water.
  7. Combine the thawed juice, sugar water, tea, and brandy.
  8. Freeze.
  9. Fill a glass 2/3 full with the frozen mixture.
  10. Add 7 Up or Sprite to fill the remaining glass.
