On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree. For the third day of Christmas this year, my daughter and I made three simple but sweet French hens.
Materials
- Full sheet of any color construction paper
- Red, orange, brown, yellow, and white construction paper
- Black crayon
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
- Cut one large circle each from the red, orange, and brown construction paper.
- Cut two wings each from the red, orange, and brown construction paper.
- Cut half circles from the red, orange, and brown construction paper.
- Cut small slits into the rounded edge of the half circles.
- Cut six small circles from the white paper.
- Cut six long chicken legs and three medium small squares from the yellow paper.
- Glue two wings, two legs, and a half circle to the back of each large circle.
- Turn the large circles over.
- Fold the yellow squares in half diagonally.
- Glue one side of the folded yellow square to the front center of the large circle with the point facing down towards the legs.
- Draw black pupils in the center of each white circle with the black crayon.
- Glue two white circles above each folded yellow square.
- Glue the three French hens to the full sheet of construction paper.
- Display the three French hens.
