Some of my fondest childhood holiday memories revolve around helping my mom make Christmas treats in the kitchen. In addition to dozens of cookies, my mom also made a pan or two of homemade fudge. For the first time this year, I made my first batch of easy fudge with the help of my two children.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of white sugar
- 3/4 cups of butter
- 2/3 cup of evaporated milk
- 12 ounces of Toll House semi-sweet chocolate
- 7 ounces of marshmallow cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions
- Line a pan with parchment paper.
- Combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a large pan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-low heat. Stir constantly.
- When the sugar dissolves completely, remove the boiling mixture from the heat.
- Stir in the chocolate.
- Stir in the marshmallow cream and vanilla.
- Pour the fudge into the parchment-lined pan.
- Refrigerate until set.
- Cut the fudge into bite-sized pieces.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container.
