F is for fish! Help your toddler learn about the letter F by making a fun fish handprint craft.
Materials
- Green, yellow, orange, dark blue, light blue, white, and black nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the green handprint into the top left of the paper with the fingers open.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some dark blue paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of dark blue paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the dark blue handprint into the bottom left of the paper with the fingers open.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the yellow handprint into the center right of the paper with the fingers open.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press an orange fingerprint next to the palm of each handprint. Reapply the orange paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press a white fingertip print onto each handprint near the orange fingerprints. Reapply the white paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a paintbrush to paint a black pupil in the center of each white fingerprint.
- Pour some light blue paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of light blue paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press a three light blue fingertip prints above each handprint near the orange fingerprints. Reapply the light blue paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “F is for fish” in light blue on the paper.
