I love creating keepsake crafts with my daughter. Our favorite crafts at the moment are handprint and footprint crafts. She loves playing in the paint and then washing her hands and feet in the sink. I love making a craft with my daughter that locks a small piece of her in time. Materials
- Pink and red nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s right palm.
- Press the handprint near the top of the paper with the fingers pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s left palm.
- Press the handprint next to the right handprint to create a heart shape.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some pink paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of pink paint on the bottom of your child’s foot.
- Press the footprint near the bottom of the paper with the toes pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
- Paint “From the bottom of my heart” in pink paint next to the red heart.
- Paint “To the tips of my toes” in red paint next to the pink footprint.
- Paint “I love you” in red paint at the bottom of the paper.
Throughout the year, my daughter and I enjoy making footprint and handprint crafts for each holiday. For our Valentine’s craft this year, she and I made a Valentine craft using handprints and footprints. Happy Valentine’s Day!
