Handprint-Footprint Valentine’s Day Craft

Handprint-Footprint Valentine's Day Craft

I love creating keepsake crafts with my daughter. Our favorite crafts at the moment are handprint and footprint crafts. She loves playing in the paint and then washing her hands and feet in the sink. I love making a craft with my daughter that locks a small piece of her in time. If you are looking for a fun craft to make with your child for Valentine’s Day, try my handprint-footprint Valentine’s Day craft.

Materials

  • Pink and red nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s right palm.
  3. Press the handprint near the top of the paper with the fingers pointing down.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
  5. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s left palm.
  6. Press the handprint next to the right handprint to create a heart shape.
  7. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
  8. Pour some pink paint onto the cardboard.
  9. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of pink paint on the bottom of your child’s foot.
  10. Press the footprint near the bottom of the paper with the toes pointing down.
  11. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  12. Paint “From the bottom of my heart” in pink paint next to the red heart.
  13. Paint “To the tips of my toes” in red paint next to the pink footprint.
  14. Paint “I love you” in red paint at the bottom of the paper.

Throughout the year, my daughter and I enjoy making footprint and handprint crafts for each holiday. For our Valentine’s craft this year, she and I made a Valentine craft using handprints and footprints. Happy Valentine’s Day!

These types of crafts are great because they’re fun and easy for kids and the message behind them is just sweet. I have a few similar things in my kitchen on the fridge now.

I really appreciate craft projects that include a personal touch or memory. My kids may be older, but I would still love to receive something like this.

Super cute! Love these ideas! My granddaughter made some projects like these this year for Christmas and I truly treasure the keepsake. Have to send these to my daughter so I can get some Valentines Day ones too 🙂

This is so sweet. I think I’m going to do something like this for my husband from my son for Valentine’s Day this year.
