How to Make a St. Patrick's Day Duck-oration Wreath

My family loves rubber ducks! The obsession began a few years ago when my daughter was a young toddler. She absolutely loved ducks, so I started buying her new ducks whenever I saw one in the baby department at the store. At one point I order a bunch of ducks offline. However, when the package arrived, I discovered that these particular ducks were not safe or recommended for young children. After much thought and consideration, I decided to use the unsafe ducks as craft materials so that I could safely display the rubber ducks out of reach of my daughter but within sight for her to enjoy. My toddler son also loves ducks at the moment!

I started by making a Halloween duck-oration wreath and then created a Thanksgiving duck-oration wreath followed by a Christmas duck-oration wreath. I also recently made a ducky wreath for Valentine’s Day. I am also a bit obsessed with making wreaths for all the other holidays and seasons of the year. Most recently I purchased some St. Patrick’s Day rubber ducks from Amazon so that I could create a wreath to display in my home from the middle of February through the middle of March.

If you too love rubber ducks, here are my simple instructions for making a St. Patrick’s Day duck-oration wreath.

Materials

Instructions

  1. Wrap the clear tape around the wire wreath.
  2. Use the needle and thread to sew the rubber ducks securely onto the wreath. Sew the ducks on with two or more stitches for maximum stability.
  3. Wrap the garland around the wreath. Weave the garland around the ducks.
  4. Use the hot glue to secure the garland as necessary on the back of the wreath.
  5. Display the St. Patrick’s Day duck-oration wreath.
