O is for owl! Help your toddler learn about the letter O by making a fun owl handprint craft.
Materials
- Dark brown, light brown, orange, white, and black nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some dark brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a paintbrush to paint a dark brown branch on the center of the paper.
- Pour some light brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of light brown paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the handprint onto the paper with the fingers hanging below the dark brown branch.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press three orange fingertip prints onto the light brown handprint to form two feet and a beak. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two white fingertip prints above the orange beak fingertip print.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a paintbrush to paint two black pupils in the center of the white fingertip prints.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “O is for owl” in orange on the paper.
