My daughter and I have been busy making apple crafts in anticipation of autumn. Plus A is for apple, making apple crafts perfect for learning about the alphabet. For a fun and easy craft to make with your child, use construction paper and pipe cleaners to make apples.
Materials
- Red and green construction paper
- Green pipe cleaners
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Glue
- Hole punch
Instructions
- Cut the red construction paper into one-inch strips.
- Staple three red strips into rings.
- Insert the red rings together to form a sphere.
- Staple the sphere together at the bottom.
- Cut two leaves from the green construction paper.
- Punch a hole in the top center of the red sphere and the edge of each green leaf.
- Cut a three-inch piece of green pipe cleaner.
- Fold the pipe cleaner piece in half.
- Twist a knot in the bottom of the pipe cleaner.
- Insert the pipe cleaner through the hole in the red sphere through underside and out the top.
- Insert the leaves on top of the red sphere.
- Open the folded green pipe cleaner to form an oval stem.
- Display the paper apple craft.
