Crafts are fun tactile activities that I love to include during homeschooling with my children. Last spring during a preschool lesson on the letter U, my daughter and I created a simple underwater urchin craft from a paper plate that allowed her to practice her cutting skills while learning a word that started with the letter U.
Materials
- Paper plate
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Blue construction paper
- Glue
Directions
- Paint the paper plate with the paint.
- After the paint dries, cut notches from around the edge of the plate to form spines.
- Glue the urchin on the blue paper.
For another fun urchin craft, try my U Is for Urchin Handprint Craft or my Sponge Urchin Craft.
