    Three Wise Men Handprint-Fingerprint Craft

    Three Wise Men Handprint-Fingerprint Craft

My toddler daughter and I enjoy making handprint crafts together for each holiday of the year. She loves playing in the paint. I love making a simple craft with her that locks a small piece of her in time. If you are looking for a fun craft to make with your child this holiday season, try my Three Wise Men handprint-fingerprint craft.

    Materials

    • Brown, blue, pink, purple, dark green, light green, and gold nontoxic paint
    • Blank paper
    • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
    • Cotton ball
    • Paintbrush

    Instructions

    1. Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
    2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s palm.
    3. Press three brown handprints onto the bottom of the sheet of paper with the fingers pointing down. Reapply the brown paint as necessary.
    4. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
    5. Pour some blue paint onto the cardboard.
    6. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of paint on your child’s finger.
    7. Press the blue fingerprint directly above the first brown handprint.
    8. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
    9. Pour some pink paint onto the cardboard.
    10. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of paint on your child’s finger.
    11. Press the pink fingerprint directly above the first brown handprint.
    12. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
    13. Pour some purple paint onto the cardboard.
    14. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of paint on your child’s finger.
    15. Press the purple fingerprint directly above the first brown handprint.
    16. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
    17. Pour some light green and light brown paint onto the cardboard.
    18. Allow your child to decorate the bottom of the paper directly under the brown handprints with green fingerprints.
    19. Wash the paint off your child’s fingers.
    20. Pour some gold paint onto the cardboard.
    21. Use a paintbrush to paint gold crowns on top of the blue, pink, and purple fingerprints and to paint a gold star in the sky.

Over the past year, my daughter and I have enjoyed making handprint crafts for each holiday. For our Christmas craft this year, she and I made the Three Wise Men using handprints and fingerprints. Merry Christmas!
