X Is for Xylophone Footprint Craft

X is for xylophone! Help your toddler learn about the letter X by making a fun xylophone footprint craft.

Materials

  • Black, red, orange, yellow, green, and blue nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of black paint on your child’s foot.
  3. Press the black footprint into the center of the paper.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  5. Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
  6. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s finger.
  7. Press the fingerprint on the black footprint near the toes.
  8. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  9. Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
  10. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s finger.
  11. Press the fingerprint on the black footprint next to the red fingerprint.
  12. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  13. Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
  14. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s finger.
  15. Press the fingerprint on the black footprint next to the orange fingerprint.
  16. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  17. Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
  18. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s finger.
  19. Press the fingerprint on the black footprint next to the yellow fingerprint.
  20. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  21. Pour some blue paint onto the cardboard.
  22. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of blue paint on your child’s finger.
  23. Press the fingerprint on the black footprint next to the green fingerprint.
  24. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  25. Use a paintbrush to paint “X is for xylophone” in black on the paper.
